Are SharkBites removable?
We are sorry to hear about your experience removing our SharkBite fitting. Our fittings do offer the ability to be removed but can be hard to do sometimes.
Is there a way to remove a SharkBite?
Unlike other fittings, SharkBite brass push-to-connect fittings can be removed and re-used if changes are necessary. To remove the fitting, use a SharkBite Disconnect Clip or Disconnect Tongs. To use the Disconnect Clip, snap it on to the pipe and pull up to the release collar.

Properly installed SharkBite fittings provide permanent connections, backed by a 25-year warranty against any manufacturer’s defect as long as the item has been installed according to installation instructions and compliant with local code.
Is SharkBite deburring tool necessary?
Sharkbite fittings are very good but also rather expensive, so I did not want to take a chance using tubing with burrs, however small. The tool is useful, but not really necessary, for marking off the depth of insertion line. However, for that the tool should cost only a few dollars.

Why do plumbers hate shark bites?
SharkBites work better than plastic quick-connects on copper pipes because the lead-free brass body is rigid like the pipe and has a higher pressure tolerance. We don’t recommend using a SharkBite fitting outside because sunlight can dry out the rubber O-ring and cause it to crack or split.
