How do I activate roaming on O2?
Opting into O2 Travel is easy. Just sign into My O2 and add the Bolt On to your account. Or you can text O2TRAVEL to 23336 and we’ll add O2 Travel on to your account. It’s free to sign up and we’ll only charge you for the days you actually use data, minutes or texts while you’re away.
Do I need to activate roaming on O2?
Before you set off, check if you have O2 Travel by visiting My O2 or calling our customer service team on 202. Get the O2 Travel Bolt On by texting O2TRAVEL to 23336. If you don’t activate O2 Travel, you’ll then be charged our standard roaming rates. This can take up to 24 hours to be applied to your account.
Why is my roaming not working O2?
Roaming may have been disabled on your device. Swipe up/down and go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks and enable Data roaming. Be aware that you can only use data without extra charges within our EU zone. If you are traveling outside of EU, we recommend you to use our O2 Travel service.
Can I use O2 in Jersey?
If you’re travelling to Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Monaco or Switzerland, you can stay connected with O2 Travel. For the days you choose to use data, you’ll only be charged a daily rate of £1.99, which gets you 100MB. Find out more about O2 Travel.

Should I turn data roaming on?
This is important: Roaming charges can be exorbitantly high when you’re traveling abroad. Verizon, AT, and Sprint charge a lot of money if you use their data when you’re overseas. If you really want to be safe, I recommend turning off Cellular Data entirely when you’re traveling abroad.
What is difference between mobile data and data roaming?
There is no real difference between mobile data and data roaming except for the fact that roaming allows your phone to access internet service using another network. When you switch off mobile data, it closes the internet access to any cellular network no matter which one your phone is connected to.
How can I solve my roaming problem?
Follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- In the Wireless & Networks section, touch the More item.
- Choose Mobile Networks. On some Android phones, you may have to choose Battery & Data Manager and then Data Delivery.
- Remove the check mark by the Data Roaming option.
Why is my roaming not working?
Restart your device several times as soon as you arrive abroad. Try to establish a connection with the different local networks manually through your device settings. One network may provide a more stable connection than another. Check whether the option ‘data roaming’ is enabled in your device settings.
