Do water slide decals last?
Absolutely! Once properly applied and completely dry, the Waterslide Transfers are permanent. If using on tumblers, a coating is needed due to the heat of a dishwasher cycle.
Do you need mark setter for water decals?
Mark Setter and Softer are optional tools for this tutorial, but they make life a hell of a lot easier. The last thing you want is your decals sliding off of your kit when you handle it before topcoating!
Can you clear coat over water slide decals?
apply your decals and make sure there totally dry before you clear. you can hit them lightly with a heat gun after you squigy them but i usuallt just wait an additional hour or so and clear as normal.
Do you have to seal water slide decals?
Do you need to seal all types of waterslide decal paper? You only need to seal Inkjet waterslide paper (printed using an inkjet printer) and both clear and white inkjet waterslide must be sealed. For laser printed decals, you MUST use a laser printer to print the image and then can simply skip the sealing part.
Can you epoxy over water slide decals?
If you run your finger over a waterslide decal you will barely be able to tell that its not part of the surface itself. This is one of the reasons why waterslides are so popular for creating custom tumblers, though a layer of epoxy over the waterslide is required to protect it from wear and tear.
Does Mark softer work on sticker decals?
Mr Mark Softer will eat through any paint if it puddles up! It’s one of the “hotter” decal solutions out there and that’s why it works really well on thick decals!
