Should you overclock i7 4790k?
It could probably handle a minor overclock but probably it is not worth your time and you’d run into thermal issues with that cooler anyhow. Unless you’re willing to get a better motherboard and cooler, I’d probably avoid it. It might create more problems than it does solutions.
Is stock cooler enough for i7 4790k?
Yup, even on stock speed the i7 4790k will be cooler on aftermarket cooler than on stock fan. The cooler your system is the longer it will survive. But still, on stock speed, an after market fan is not a must, only recommended.
What is a safe overclock for i7 4790k?
1.3v isn’t unsafe but it’s around the upper limits of what many consider safe for every day use. 1.4 is probably the upper most limit for vcore, 1.3v or under is preferable. 1.2 is safe and more or less conservative, some 4790k’s default to 1.3v stock.
How high can you overclock i7 4790k?
The 4790K was stable enough at 4.7GHz to run some benchmarks, but I’d say 4.6GHz is the more reasonable overclocking limit for daily use, unless you have a much beefier cooler than this one….Overclocking the Core i7-4790K.
