The argument of whether universities should function as training grounds for employment can be substantiated and supported from different perspectives. In this essay, a supporting argument is carried out that introduces the reader to the role played by universities as training grounds for employment.
Universities are equipped with the tools and equipment necessary to organize useful courses for learners. Since they are organized in departments and schools, this provides a broad range of support for different course training (Goldstein, 2010). Compared to small learning organizations such as colleges, the presence of departments in universities provides in-depth training through technology to students. With the proliferation of technology, organizations are dependent on knowledge workers with the ability to apply knowledge in the right way.
Universities possess the strength and ability to provide equipped individuals giving them an advantage as training grounds (Hailey, 2015). Also, the availability of libraries, laboratories, and e-learning materials help them train students adequately. Various positive qualities accrue to a student who acquires a university degree. Attending lectures makes one strive to be independent and be able to carry out their research (Hailey, 2015). Undertaking projects, essays, and dissertations enable individuals to be dependent, and this cements their careers as independent contractors in the future to self-employment.
