At the end of the day, Sentret serves as a poor substitute for Rattata. In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, as well as the remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver, it is a useful Pokémon to have for the first two gyms. However, from the third gym onwards, Sentret and its evolution become nothing more than dead weight.
