Committee vote scheduled for Tuesday

HouseJudBlog.png

Just hours after hearing testimony on the legislation that will extend marriage to same-sex couples in the Ocean State, the House Judiciary Committee has officially scheduled a vote on HB5015 this coming Tuesday. The marriage bill is moving quickly through the house -- soaring on the momentum generated by thousands of Rhode Islanders who have joined our campaign, taken action, and urged the General Assembly to pass this crucial legislation!

Last night, dozens of Rhode Islanders shared with the committee their heartfelt reasons that marriage matters to them. And now, in the six days before the committee takes the first vote on the marriage bill in the 2013 legislative session, we need your help to ensure that members of the General Assembly have no doubt that a majority of Rhode Islanders are ready for marriage equality.

We'll be working around the clock to ensure that HB5015 passes onto the House floor, and we need your help to mobilize more supporters to contact their legislators in the next six days.
Sign up now to volunteer, and an organizer will be contact you soon to find a shift that works for you.

One step closer to making history, one step closer to making Rhode Island a state where everyone has the freedom to marry the person they love -- let's do this!
