Rhode Islanders United for Marriage is a broad-based grassroots coalition, dedicated to ensuring that all loving and committed couples in the Ocean State have access to the unique recognition and protection of civil marriage. We are united in our belief that marriage matters to the thousands of same-sex couples who call Rhode Island home. We are united in our belief that marriage and family is about love and commitment. We are united in our belief that allowing marriage licenses for same-sex couples strengthens families and strengthens the state we love. We are united in the understanding that civil unions do not adhere to the Golden Rule, and we must treat all Rhode Islanders as we would want to be treated. We are united in our hope that the Rhode Island General Assembly will join us in supporting marriage for all of Rhode Island's loving and committed same-sex couples.
